Chitwan: A team from India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has commenced operations to locate two passenger buses and their passengers swept away by a landslide on the Narayangadh-Mugling road. The search effort began this morning under the guidance of Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav.
The incident occurred on July 12 at Simaltal, where two buses were pushed from the road into the Trishuli River. Of the 65 passengers, three survived, while 62 went missing. So far, the bodies of 25 individuals have been recovered at various points along the river. The status of the remaining 37 passengers and the two buses remains unknown.
The NDRF team, consisting of 12 members, was called in by the Nepali government due to the need for advanced tools and expertise to conduct an effective search in the flooded river.
